| Dear Parents and Friends,
As you know, our school is strongly committed to cultural and economic diversity and relies heavily on the success of its annual fundraising to achieve a balanced budget each year. Each year, we raise about 10% of our budget from individual donations, foundation grants and fundraising events. Our fundraising programs are designed to invite all members of our community to participate as donors, whether large or small, and as volunteers in the classroom, at special events, and on school committees. Over the years, these efforts have enabled parents as well as our extended families and friends to develop a stronger connection to the Waldorf educational experience.
I am continually bowled over by the enthusiasm and community spirit found at the Waldorf School of Philadelphia. And, there is no better way for you to cultivate this spirit than by making a donation to support the school, volunteering at special events, working actively in the both the Parent's Association and participating in Parent Education programs.
Together, with you, we can meet and exceed our goals for tomorrow. From potluck dinners to the Holiday Fair, you know we are at our most successful when we come together as a community. Community defines us at the Waldorf School of Philadelphia. It's how we were founded as a school, and how we have grown over the years. It's how we foster a new generation of thoughtful, socially responsible students, who will one day make our world a better place to live.
I invite you to join our quarterly Development Committee meetings. Please contact me at (215) 248-1662 x 225 if you have questions or would like information about any of the Development Office's initiatives. I welcome your input and ideas.
Sincerely,
Barbara Hogue
Director of Development
